Xiaomi launched its latest version of custom interface for smartphones dubbed as MIUI 8 in May and promised to release the first developer ROM starting June 17. The company is keeping up its word by making the MIUI 8 China Developer ROM available for users and also shared the new features and list of supported devices for the new software.
Xiaomi MIUI 8 brings a series of new features and useful changes that completely refresh the user experience on old Mi smartphones. Some of the most notable changes include change in colour depending on the weather or change of voice tone while sound recording, different colours for every section in app store, new colours in calendar app and more.
According to the company's official changelog, the MIUI 8 ROM comes with new design, support for long screenshots, apps cloning, new calculator, new scanner, all-new battery saver, special effects for video editing, anti-fraud SMS security, updated notes app with grid view, new way to select and translate words, multi-window management, second space and redesigned gallery and task manager.
How to upgrade to MIUI 8?
Step 1: MIUI 8 update is being pushed over-the-air (OTA)
Step 2: Click on the OTA notification or check for the update in "Updater" app.
Step 3: Click on Download and Install when prompted.
