Mission: Impossible 6: Tom Cruise to ride classic E28 BMW 5 Series, R NineT in the sixth edition

Fans' favourite Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) is back as the action spy thriller Mission: Impossible's sixth instalment will be released on July 27, 2018 by Paramount Pictures.  The filming of the movie began in April in Paris.

Just like the previous instalments of the MI series, Tom Cruise's character drives BMW vehicles in the new instalment too. BMW's association with the 'Mission: Impossible' franchise started in 2011. Cruise had driven a BMW i8 hybrid supercar in 'Ghost Protocol' released in 2011 and BMW introduced its new 7 Series flagship sedan in 'Rogue Nation' in 2015. In the last instalment, Cruise's also rode a BMW M3 and BMW Motorrad S 1000 RR superbike.

For the latest movie, Tom Cruise will take the 28-generation BMW 5 Series and R NineT for a spin. The 54-year-old actor was spotted behind the wheel of the classic BMW sedan for a high octane stunt scene. The video clip shows Cruise behind the wheel throwing the 5 Series down a flight of stairs and into the road.

E28 is the second generation of BMW 5 Series and was produced from 1981 to 1988. That makes the model a collector's item now. The E28 model was initially produced with petrol 4-cylinder and 6-cylinder engine only. In 1983, BMW added a diesel engine for the first time in a 5 Series. The E28 is also known for the first 5 Series with the centre console angled towards the driver and the option of anti-lock brakes (ABS).

While the four-wheeler is a classic machine, the bike R Nine T was debuted in 2014. The wire spoke wheels, round headlamp, analogue instrument and aluminium accents give retro styled Cafe Racer model a classic old-school look. Powering the new R nine T is an air-cooled flat twin 1170cc boxer engine that pumps out 110bhp at a peak torque of 119Nm mated to a six-speed gearbox. The bike has a top speed of 200kmph.
