Speculations about the Miss World 2016 beauty pageant have started doing the rounds. While one report suggests that Miss World 2000 Priyanka Chopra will host the show, another report claims that Miss World 2013 Megan Young will return as the show host.
According to Gamenguide, Chopra is currently not busy, as the Quantico season 2 is on a break and thus she will be flying to Washington DC to host the grand finale of Miss World 2016 on December 18. The report says that the Miss World beauty pageant has invited the former Miss World and Quantico star to host the show, which is said to be better than the Superbowl.
On the other hand, a leading website in Philippines, ABS-CBN, reported saying that Young will return to the coronation night, which will be held at MGM National Harbor in Maryland on December 18. Young also posted a photo of her passport and tickets and captioned: "Definitely pulling a Snorlax on both flights. #meganworldtravels Manila Washington DC." If Young returns then this will mark as her third consecutive year as the Miss World host. She hosted the event in 2014 and in 2015.
However, Miss World is yet to make an official announcement about the host of the show. The makers of the beauty pageant will reveal the host, judges' panel, and the names of the artists performing on the grand finale two or three days before the coronation night.
The finale of the Miss World 2016 will be held on December 18 at 3:30 pm EST. The event will be televised live across the world from The Theater at MGM National Harbor in Washington.
"MGM is one of the premier entertainment brands on the globe; therefore, we are very excited and proud to bring one of the world's greatest shows to their new world-class theatre," Julia Morley, Chairman and CEO of Miss World, said in a statement.
