5.51 pm ET: It's time for the winner to be announced. Miss World 2015 Mireia Lalaguna Royo is on stage to crown her successor. Who do you think will win the Miss World 2016 title?

5.32 pm ET: Top five finalists are announced and in no particular order they are Miss Kenya, Miss Philippines, Miss Dominican Republic, Miss Puerto Rico and Miss Philippines

4.50 pm ET: Top 10 finalists are announced. Miss Philippines is the first finalist followed by Miss Indonesia, Miss Belgium, Miss Brazil, Miss Kenya, Miss United States, Miss China PR, Miss Dominican Republic, Miss Puerto Rico and Miss Korea.

Miss India fails to make it to the top 10 list, while Miss Mongolia is the winner of People's Choice award. 

 4.41 pm ET: The top contestants are:  

Fast Track winners: Miss China PR Jing Kong, Miss Philippines Catriona Gray, Miss Cook Islands Natalia Short, Miss Mongolia Bayartsetseg Altangerel and Miss Indonesia Natasha Mannuela.

4.26 pm ET: Miss Indonesia Natasha Mannuela is the winner of Beauty With a Purpose challenge. She won the award after beating the other four finalists, including Miss India Priyadarshini Chatterjee, Miss Philippines Catriona Gray, Miss Kenya Evelyn Njambi Thungu and Miss Nepal Asmi Shrestha, of the challenge event.

4.17 pm ET: Miss Philippines Catriona Gray won the Multimedia challenge round, while the Talent event winner is Miss Mongolia Bayartsetseg Altangerel. 

4.16 pm ET: And the winner of the Sports challenge is Miss Cook Islands  

4.15 pm ET: Be ready for the next fast track announcement. The winners of the Talent, Sports and Multimedia challenge round will be announced.

4.13 pm ET: Miss China PR Jing Kong is the winner of Top Model challenge

4.08 pm ET: Fast track events are being announced. The winners of the challenge event will get an entry in the top 20, as this year the contestants will not be judged based on the leaderboard positions.

4.05 pm ET: The hosts of the evening Miss World 2013 Megan Young and Jason Cook are on the stage

4.02 pm ET: After the introduction, contestants give a sizzling dance performance 

3.30 pm ET: The show has begun with the contestant's introduction. Who do you think will win the Miss World 2016 crown? 

2.59 pm ET: The stage is set and the show will begin soon

The grand finale of the Miss World 2016 competition will begin in a few minutes in Washington with 117 contestants walking the ramp. The coronation night, which is expected to be a grand affair, will be broadcast live on the official YouTube page of the Miss World 2016 competition.

Miss World 2015 Mireia Lalaguna‎ will crown her successor in a star-studded grand finale, which is held live at The Theater at MGM National Harbor in Washington, US. For one last time, the contestants will walk the ramp presenting their countries.

"It was even more than what I imagined. My life has changed completely and I can say that I'm now a totally different person. I have grown so much. Helping others and traveling is the best way to learn about yourself," Lalaguna said in a statement.

"When I see all the contestants, I feel that I would really like to live the experience again. It brings to my mind a lot of amazing memories. It's not jealousy, but I truly want to be back in this cultural exchange. When I watch the girls, I want to relive all of the competitions- Sports, Top Model, etc.

"I can see in them that I am their reference point and I try to give everyone tips and help the nervous ones. I remind them to enjoy each and every day because it goes by so quickly," she added.
