The sensational pair of Martina Hingis and Sania Mirza stormed into the final of the Madrid Open 2016 on Friday, edging past Vania King and Alla Kudryavtseva with a 6-2, 6-0 straight-set victory in the semifinals of the women's doubles. The Indo-Swiss duo, popularly referred to as "SanTina", are currently the No 1 women's doubles team in the world.
Sania and Hingis, who have already won the Sydney Open, the Brisbane Open, the Australian Open 2016 and the St Petersburg Open titles this season, didn't give the American-Russian duo of King and Kudryavtseva even a single chance in their semifinals match, which was decided in just about 50 minutes.
SanTina will now take on fifth seeds Caroline Garcia and Kristina Mladenovic for the Madrid Open 2016 title on Saturday. The French duo got past Elena Vesnina and Ekaterina Makarova 6-2 6-3 in the other semifinal of the competition on Friday.
