The iconic Mini, owned by British car manufacturer BMW, launched its largest offering, the Clubman, in India at Rs 37.9 lakh, ex-showroom. The Clubman is the fifth model of Mini in India, and the second one launched this year, after Mini Cooper S Convertible that came earlier this year.
The Clubman measures 4,253mm in length, 1,800mm in width and 1,441mm in height. It is 270mm longer and 90mm wider than the standard Mini 5 door. The Clubman also features a wheelbase of 2,670mm, front track of 1,564mm and rear track of 1,565mm.
The design of the Clubman unmistakably features the design language of all Mini models, except for its long stance. The Clubman comes with large, single-frame grille, oval headlamps and clamshell bonnet. On the sides, it features new alloy wheels along with the redesigned ORVMs and door handles. The car also comes with plastic underbody cladding. The rear of the hatchback features a funky two-door tailgate, which ensures easier loading of luggage.
The Clubman comfortably seats four adults, while also offering generous space for luggage. The signature Mini circular infotainment system has been added at the centre of the new dashboard. The largest Mini hatchback also flaunts ambient cabin lightening, and electrically adjustable driver's seat.
The hatchback will be offered in India with 2.0-litre 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol mill that develops 189bhp and 280Nm of torque mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. Despite being longer in dimension, the Clubman can sprint to 100kmph in 7.2 seconds. Mini also claims the Clubman will deliver a fuel efficiency of 13.8kmpl.
