BMW's sub-brand MINI has launched Cooper S Carbon edition in India for Rs 39.90 lakh. The special edition of the Cooper S is limited to just 20 units and bookings are open via e-commerce portal, Amazon.
The Carbon edition of the Cooper S is added with John Cooper Works tuning kit. The tuning kit souped up the 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine to develop 207bhp and 300Nm of torque. This is 19bhp and 20Nm more than to the specification of the standard Cooper S. The engine is mated to six-speed automatic gearbox with paddle shifters.
The Cooper S Carbon edition will be sold in Midnight Black, Thunder Grey and Pepper White exterior colour options. The front bumper is sportier with larger air intakes. The model boasts of valve exhaust system with sport and track mode, carbon fibre tailpipe, Bluetooth exhaust control, an aerodynamic body kit, matte black sport and side stripes with red piping, and black 17-inch cosmos spoke alloys. JCW badging has been embossed at the door sills and the leather wrapped steering wheel.
The interior has been spruced up with JCW cockpit that has been highlighted with glowing red soft touch knee roll, door armrests and dashboard trim. The sports seats are finished with Alcantara leather and Red Dinamica with integrated headrests and manual lumber support. The car is also loaded with electronic damper control, head-up display, rear parking sensors and driving modes.
On safety, Carbon edition flaunts front and passenger airbags, brake assist, 3-point seat belts, dynamic stability control, crash sensor, anti-lock braking system, cornering brake control and run-flat indicator.
