Bollywood singer Mika Singh has landed in controversy again. The singer has been booked on charges of molesting, after an aspiring model filed a complaint against him at the Versova police station in Mumbai on Tuesday.
The Versova police registered an FIR against Mika Singh, filed by the model who alleges that the singer had outraged her modesty. However, Mika claimed that the model is just trying to blackmail him to extort money.
"A woman named Priyanka Kumar filed an FIR against Mika Singh on Tuesday evening. It is a case of molestation," an official from Versova police station told IANS.
The victim in her complaint said that she has known Mika for the last five years, and on Tuesday, she was at his residence. She and Mika had an argument over monetary issues during which the singer pushed her and pulled her hair, the Hindu reported.
However, Mika has said that the girl had, in fact, demanded money from him. After the complaint, he released a statement saying that the girl demanded Rs. 5 crore.
"Today (Tuesday) morning at around 5 a.m. one girl barged into my premises by entering through the window and started abusing me and assaulting me and my staff and started threatening if I don't pay her Rs 5 crore, she will ruin my career and register a false case against me. I have already informed Versova police in writing regarding the threats and extortion," he said in the statement.
"I don't know who this girl is. I have all the evidence against this girl of she demanding money from me and I have informed the police about this incident. Police are investigating the matter and truth will be out soon," he added.
The police are now investigating the matter and have obtained CCTV footages of Mika's residence to verify all the allegations.
