Indian-origin Satya Nadella, who heads Microsoft Corporation, is the top paid CEO in the US with a pay package of $84.3 million (Rs 525 crore) a year, according to a study.
Oracle's Larry Ellison, who topped the list last year, has slipped to second position as his annual compensation stood at $67.3 million, NDTV Profit said citing The Equilar 100 CEO Pay Study.
Another Indian-origin CEO, Indra Nooyi, of PepsiCo, with a pay of $19.08 million is ranked at 19th position in the study, which analyses CEO salaries at 100 largest public US companies ranked on the basis of their revenues.
Steven Mollenkopf of Qualcomm, who earns $60.7 million a year, occupied the third position in the list.
The "Oracle of Omaha" Warren Buffett of Berkshire Hathaway has been ranked last in the list at 100th position, with a package of $4.64 million.
Others executives who figure in the top-ten include Robert Iger (Walt Disney), Larry Merlo (CVS Health), K Rupert Murdoch (Twenty-First Century Fox), W James McNerney, Jr (Boeing), James Gorman (Morgan Stanley), David Cote (Honeywell International) and Kenneth Chenault (American Express).
The study shows an increase in median pay for 100 CEOs by 5 percent to $14.3 million last year.
