Microsoft has newly announced that the new Xbox Wireless Controller can be used by gamers owning the Samsung Gear VR. This is due to the former being made compatible with controller-enabled games on the Gear VR.
The first game to feature the above compatibility will officially be the Minecraft: Gear VR. Microsoft has stated that multiple Gear VR-enabled controller games such as Herobound, Omega Agent, Spirit Champion and End Space will be made compatible in the near future. Microsoft demoed the Gear VR compatible Minecraft: Gear VR game at the MINECON event held last week.
"Beyond Minecraft: Gear VR Edition, we're working hard to make the Xbox Wireless Controller compatible with all controller-supported Gear VR games and future games too. Keep an eye out for more news on the release timing in the coming months. Once available, all you need to do is update your controller, and you'll be ready to play," Microsoft said in a statement.
