Microsoft Not Launching Nokia Lumia 735 in India on 22 January: Report

Microsoft's Nokia Lumia 735 4G smartphone won't be launched today (22 January) in India as reported by some media houses.

On 21 January, one of the company's official Twitter handle- Lumia India had tweeted:  '#WideLies #ComingSoon #22Jan' with a orange phone with message inside reading – "GET READY FOR WIDER PICTURE; WIDELIES COMING SOON".

This tweet apparently led many to believe that Microsoft will finally launch the 4G-LTE Lumia 735 in India, which missed its debut in October last year. On 1 October, Microsoft had launched Lumia 730, 830 and 930 in India.

Today, technology blog, The Mobile Indian citing reliable sources at Microsoft has confirmed that Nokia Lumia 735 will not be launched in India on 22 January and clarified that the aforementioned tweet was related to Lumia 535 promo.

On further questioned on the actual release date details of Lumia 735, he declined to comment and re-iterated that the company's main focus is on the budget Lumia 535.

For the uninitiated, Lumia 735 packs identical specifications in terms of looks and internal hardware seen inside the Lumia 730. The only difference between the two is that the former boasts of nano SIM (single slot), 4G-LTE network connectivity support and has wire-less charging ability.
