After the complete acquisition of Lumia smartphone brand from Nokia, Microsoft seems to be going aggressive on the smartphone war by working on several handsets with PureView camera and a decent configuration.
A few days ago, we had reported that Microsoft is working on a flagship device with 41MP PureView camera. Recently, the Windows developer also announced a Windows Phone 10 software update.
Now a new screenshot image has been leaked on the web that shows Microsoft working on a new Lumia smartphone -- Lumia 940. Assumed to be leaked from a Lumia manufacturing factory, the screenshot apparently shows the detailed specifications of Lumia 940 smartphone.
According to the report, Lumia 940 will feature a 5-inch HD display with 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution. Powered by a Snapdragon 805 system on chip, Lumia 940 will be coupled with 3GB worth RAM memory.
The Snapdragon 805 processor has a Quad-Core Krait 450 CPU at up to 2.7GHz clock speed per core and a Qualcomm Adreno 420 GPU. Capable of working with 4G LTE networks, the Snapdragon 805 SoC also supports Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0 technology, 4K UHD displays and 64-bit processing. The processor has been featured in several popular smartphones including Google Nexus 6, Samsung Galaxy Note 4 and Motorola Droid Turbo.
The Lumia 940 phone will be available on three storage variety, 32GB, 64GB and 128GB, respectively. It will include all the necessary connectivity features including WLAN, NFC and USB 3.0.
The biggest USP of Lumia 940 will probably be its PureView camera. A 24MP rear camera with 4K video recording capability at 60 frames per second and a 5MP front camera with 1080p video recording capability, Lumia 940 is quite sure to hit the bulls eye.
Measuring 137 x 71 x 8.9mm, the Lumia 940 will weigh 149g and is expected to be priced at mid-end smartphone category.
