Microsoft may be keeping mum on its upcoming devices - Lumia 940 and Lumia 940 XL – but almost every detail, including features and price, have been leaked with its release date drawing close. Now, a report has claimed that it will be priced higher than Apple's iPhone 6 and Samsung Galaxy S6.
It is reported that the software giant is launching two devices - Microsoft RM-1104 codenamed 'Talkman' believed to be the Lumia 940, and Microsoft RM-1100 codenamed 'Cityman' believed to be the Lumia 940 XL – in the fourth quarter of this year, perhaps in November.
Surprisingly, Apple's current flagship device iPhone 6 and Samsung's recently launched smartphone, the Galaxy S6 will be cheaper than Microsoft's upcoming Lumia 940 and Lumia 940 XL, according to a report by Dutch website MyWindows (via WMPowerUser). The report went on to claim that the devices would be made of polycarbonate, support Continuum and feature Iris scanner.
Meanwhile, the Lumia 940 is expected to come with features with a 5.2-inch QHD display with 2560×1440 resolution, Hexa-Core Snapdragon 808 processor with Adreno 430 GPU, 32 GB of internal storage with a microSD card slot, 3 GB RAM, 20 MP main camera with Pureview and 5 MP front snapper, 3000 mAh removable battery and USB Type-C, according to Windows Central and NokiaPowerUser.
The same websites have leaked the specifications of the Lumia 940 XL, claiming that it would come with a 5.7-inch QHD display with 2560 x 1440 resolution display, Octa-Core Snapdragon 810 processor with Adreno 430 GPU, 32 GB internal memory with microSD card slot, 3 GB RAM, 20 MP main camera with PureView and 5 MP front snapper, 3300 mAh removable battery, USB Type-C, and metallic unibody frame.
However, gaming benchmark site GFXBench has claimed that the Microsoft RM-1100 aka Lumia 940 XL will features accelerometer, compass, gyroscope, lightsensor, nfc, proximity, 5.7-inch screen with 2559 x 1440 pixels, Octa-core Qualcomm (ARMv7) processor with Adreno 430 GPU, 14 GB internal memory, 1.5 GB RAM, and 17 MP main camera and 4.8 MP front snapper.
It may be mentioned that Microsoft is yet to speak up on the devices and the leaked features are not confirmed.
