Microsoft is tight-lipped on the release date and features of its upcoming devices – the Lumia 940 and the Lumia 940 XL – but that hasn't stopped speculations. In fact, the company's secrecy has led to more rumors, and now a new report has suggested that more Lumia variant could be in line for launch other than the Lumia 940 and the 940 XL.
The release date of Microsoft Lumia 940 and the Lumia 940 XL are expected to fall in the fourth quarter of the year just ahead of the festive season.
Interestingly, a report by NokiaPowerUser has claimed that a possible new Lumia product with code RM-1104 has passed certification in Indonesia," giving a hint that more variants of Lumia could be launched along with the Lumia 940 and the Lumia 940 XL later this year.
The same website had earlier spotted a Lumia product with code RM-1106 on GFXBench with sources claiming that it could be the Lumia 940. So, the device with code RM-1104 could be another Lumia variant.
According to a report by NokiaPowerUser ( including information provided on GFXBench), the Lumia 940 is expected to sport a 5.2-inch display with 2560×1440 resolution, powered by Hexa-Core Snapdragon 808 processor with Adreno 430 GPU, come packed with 32 GB internal memory and 3 GB RAM, and house 20 MP main camera with Pureview.
In another report, the same website threw some light on the Lumia 940 XL, claiming that it might sport a 5.7-inch screen with 2560 x 1440 resolution display, powered Octa-Core Snapdragon 810 processor with Adreno 430 GPU, come packed with a 32 GB internal memory with microSD card slot and 3 GB RAM, and 20 MP main camera with PureView, and 5 MP front snapper. It went on to claim that the device might come with a metallic unibody frame, iris scanner, Native Pen support, USB Type-C & Dual-Role support, and continuum for Phones support.
