Microsoft is looking to tap into the compact budget smartphone market in India with its latest entry. The Lumia 430 Dual SIM smartphone is Microsoft's latest attempt at getting back in track with its rivals in the market.
Microsoft launched the new Lumia smartphone with an attractive price point in India, selling at just ₹5,299. To match the price, Microsoft is offering low-end features that fit the needs of a novice smartphone user.
"We have introduced Lumia 430 at an affordable cost of Rs 5,199 to enhance our share in the Indian market. It is a dual SIM card smartphone with the right hardware, software, services and applications," Microsoft Mobile Devices Director (West) Anant Mittal told reporters, according to Economic Times.
As for the handset's specs, Lumia 430 Dual SIM sports a 4-inch WVGA display with 480 x 800 pixel resolution and 235ppi. It is powered by a 1.2 GHz dual-core Cortex-A7 processor and Adreno 302 GPU takes care of the graphics. Other specs include 1GB RAM and 8GB expandable storage onboard.
Lumia 430 packs two cameras on both sides of the phone. The primary one is a 2MP sensor and the front-facing camera is a VGA unit. The handset runs on Windows 8.1 Denim out of the box and is listed as one of the eligible devices for Windows 10 Mobile update later this year.
Microsoft-exclusive perks are also included in the handset such as 30GB free OneDrive storage. To keep up the phone running for up to 18 hours on 2G talk and at least 9 hours on 3G talk time, there is a 1,500mAh battery.
The Lumia 430 Dual SIM will be available in just two colors, Bright Orange and Black. Interested buyers can purchase the new handset form the company's official website or from nationwide retail outlets.
