Microsoft launches Surface Laptop, Book 2 in India: Price, specs and more

The new Surface Book 2 and the Surface Laptop comes with multiple configuration options with prices ranging between Rs 86,999 to Rs 2,95,999. Read to know the key features of the new Windows-powered hybrid PCs.

Leading software technology company Microsoft has launched the powerful hybrid 2-in-1 PCs Surface Laptop and Book 2 in New Delhi.

Though both the products are late to arrive in India, they are still the best products in their respective categories owing to its powerful configuration and exceptionally good build quality.

Microsoft Surface Book 2 comes in two sizes 13.5-inch and 15.0-inch with a PixelSense display. As far as the exterior look is concerned, it flaunts a premium metallic shell and the thermal settings of the device have been re-configured to dissipate heat more efficiently.

This is particularly useful when the device is used during a graphics-intensive gaming session, which is sorely missed in rival MacBook Pro (2018) series.

Under the hood, Surface Book 2 houses a powerful, faster and an efficient SoC (System-on-Chip) on par with latest rival brands. It is now available in custom configuration as customers can choose between 7^th Gen Intel Core i5 or 8th Gen Intel Core i7 processors with Intel-based graphics cards or NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 and 1060 discrete graphics options.

While it is available in 8 GB / 16 RAM with top-notch configurations, Surface Book 2 is also well equipped to support 3D gaming, mixed reality and performs functions seamlessly in others forms of work.

Furthermore, the Surface Book 2 supports Surface Pen with tilt and 4096 levels of pressure sensitivity for amazing inking and Surface Dial on-screen. This makes it more versatile than any rival brand in its class.

For those who are unaware, Surface Dial is a new peripheral designed in a shape of a hockey puck, which has to be placed right on the device's screen. It integrates with Windows 10 to work with Surface for a faster and more intuitive way to scroll, zoom and navigate.

Furthermore, Surface Book 2 comes with all-day battery life – up to 17 hours of video playback --that is 70 percent more than the Apple MacBook Pro (2017), the company noted.

On the other hand, the new Surface Laptop flaunts sleek and light anodised metallic body and sports 13.5-inch screen with PixelSense Display technology. It also has 3:2 display aspect ratio, edge-to-edge Corning Gorilla Glass 3 shield and Alcantara-type keyboard, which resists spills and absorption.
