After months of speculations, home grown smartphone major Micromax today (18 December) officially pulled the wraps off the much awaited CyanogenMod powered YU Yureka.
Micromax's new YU Yureka sports 5.5-inch HD IPS screen and ships with Cyanogen 11 OS, 64-bit class Snapdragon 615 series Octa-core SoC (System on Chip), Adreno 405 graphics engine, 13.0-megapixel main camera, 5.0-megapixel snapper on the front and 2,500 mAh battery.
Special mention:
Besides exceptional hardware, Micromax phone will also be the first device among all Android phones in the world to get custom CyanogenMod series Android 5.0 Lollipop OS. It will also get monthly OTA (Over-The-Air) updates there-after. The company has also promised that the warranty will not get void, even if the user roots (unlock) the phone.
Micromax YU Yureka India price and Availability:
Feature-rich Micromax YU Yureka pre-registration service will go live exclusively on Amazon India at 2:00 pm afternoon for an unbelievable, dirt-cheap price of just ₹8,999 (around $142/€116).
[It is most likely to emulate Xiaomi's flash-sale model]
Competition:
With a sub-9,000 price-tag, it won't be competing with anybody, and will instead pose a serious threat to newcomers and MNC brands like Xiaomi and Motorola. Most of the 64-bit class CPU based devices in the market are priced more than ₹25,000 in India.
We believe Micromax's new YU Yureka will certainly stir up a huge storm in the Indian smartphone market. With feature-rich Yureka, Micromax has got itself a potent arsenal to take on the market leader Samsung, which is just 4% ahead of the Indian company in terms of market share.
