Popular indigenous smartphone maker Micromax is reportedly prepping to launch a new phablet, named Canvas Tube A118R, to the market.
The new device was revealed during the company's press event on the sidelines of Micromax's foray into the Russia market.
The presentation slides of Canvas Tube A11R, available at technology blog AndroidOS, show the phablet will boast a 5.5-inch IPS screen and ship with v4.2.2 Jelly Bean OS out-of-the-box.
Under the hood, it packs a 1.2GHz quad-core processor, 32GB inbuilt storage (expandable), an 8.0-megapixel camera with auto focus feature, 2.0-megapixel snapper on the front and a 2300 mAh battery.
According to reports, the new Micromax phablet will be released in Russia in the coming weeks, though there is no word on when the company is planning to launch the device in its home market (India).
Along with Canvas Tube A118R, the company will also be launching Canvas Knight A350, Canvas Beat, Canvas Social and ten other mid-range and budget (Bolt series) smartphones in Russia.
In related news, Micromax on Saturday (25 January) launched the much-anticipated smaller variant of the company's flagship phone Canvas Turbo in India, via online channels. The new phone, tentatively titled as Canvas Turbo Mini A200, sports a 4.7-inch HD display and boasts a quad-core CPU. It is available for ₹14,490 at Flipkart.
