India's most popular indigenous smartphone maker, Micromax, is reportedly planning to unveil a new phablet soon.
Tech blog AndroidOS.in citing sources has revealed that Micromax is expected to announce a mammoth 5.7-inch smartphone dubbed A240 probably by next week. It claims that the big-screen handset would boast of an HD 1280x720p resolution display and run on Android v4.2 Jelly Bean OS powered by MediaTek based quad-core processor with 1GB RAM and 16GB inbuilt memory.
The phablet is expected to house a 12.0-megapixel camera on the rear side and a 5.0-megapixel secondary camera on the front. Other stipulated features include vertical panorama snapshot options, video pinning to home screen support, smart pause and also include gesture control based features - flip to mute.The Micromax A240 may be priced around ₹18,000.
Micromax is also expected to launch the second generation Canvas Doodle 2 handset in the coming days.
Over a week ago, Micromax was in a bit of turmoil as its co-owner Rajesh Agarwal was arrested on charges of bribery allegations in New Delhi. Since then, the company has disbanded Agarwal's official position from Micromax.
