Soon after the launch of Micromax's much-awaited Canvas 4 smartphone, the Indian technology firm is reportedly working on a smartphone with Windows Phone 8 operating system on board.
According to technology website BGR, Micromax is already working on its next line-up which includes a Windows Phone 8 powered smartphone and 4G-enabled devices that include dongles and smartphones. According to Micromax co-founder Rahul Sharma, these devices will be launched when the market is ready to receive them.
"We are aggressively working on our 4G offerings including smartphones and dongles," said Rahul Sharma "We will launch these as soon as we will found the ecosystem ready for the same."
Meanwhile, the newly- launched Canvas 4 smartphone is said to be getting good response from Indian consumers. The company claimed that it has received more than 11,500 pre-orders for Canvas 4 since 28 June.
On the specifications front, Micromax Canvas 4 A210 sports a 5.0-inch TRU IPS display with HD 1280x720p resolution and runs on Android v4.2.1 Jelly Bean OS. Other specifications include a 1.2GHz Mediatek Cortex A7 quad-core processor, PowerVR SGX544 graphics engine, 1GB RAM and 16GB internal memory which can be expanded up to 32GB via microSD card. The smartphone comes with video playback feature - Smart Pause, touch-free feature - 'Blow to Unlock', and a gesture control feature. The device is priced ₹17,999.
