Popular indigenous technology firm, Micromax reportedly plans to offer monetary benefits for smartphone users to watch advertisement on the company's upcoming smartphone.
Micromax community website, MMX Newscaster has claimed that the prospective owners of the new budget Canvas MAd A94 will get paid to watch ads on their smartphone.
Many are speculating that the company's MAd service will kick start with launch of Canvas MAd A94 (probably by January end) and then the service will be made available to other Micromax smartphones.
Micromax Co-founder, Rahul Sharma while attending the International CES (Consumer Electronics Show) 2014 reportedly said, "Let's be clear about what this does. It's not for business people, who are on the move and don't have time to watch advertisements. This is aimed at the youth, who could use the cash and don't mind watching advertisements."
Micromax intends to target youth and people who own sub-₹10,000 smartphones. They will be asked to choose options of watching 30 or 60 second ads and then he/she would be offered points which can be cashed in as talk-time vouchers, reported The Hindu.
Rumours are rife that Micromax Canvas MAd smartphone will would be priced under ₹7,500 and sport a 4.5-inch screen, a quad-core processor paired with 512MB RAM and 4GB inbuilt memory with options of expansions via microSD card. It is also said to flaunt 5.0-megapixel camera on the rear side and a VGA snapper on the front.
