Micromax on Thursday (18 June) unveiled the company's flagship handset, dubbed Canvas Sliver 5, in New Delhi.
The new Micromax Canvas Sliver 5 is an ultra-thin smartphone measuring just 5.1 mm, making it the slimmest handset in the world.
Though other brands such as Gionee, Vivo and Oppo claim their devices – Elife Slim 5.1, X5 Max and R5 – have thickness between 4.75 and 5.1 mm, Micromax says the new Canvas Sliver 5 flaunts uniform thickness from end-to-end with no camera bumps in the middle.
Another unique feature of the Micromax Canvas Sliver 5 is that it features aircraft grade aluminum frame around the edges, giving a sense of premium and sturdy structure to withstand accidental drops. Despite housing a metallic structure, it weighs just 97 grams.
Other stipulated features include 4.8-inch HD AMOLED display, Android 5.0 series Lollipop OS, 64-bit class Snapdragon 410 series SoC (System on Chip), 2GB RAM, 16GB memory, 2000 mAh battery, 8mp camera with Sony IMX219 camera sensor with LED flash, Blue Glass filter and 5mp snapper on the front.
Micromax Canvas Sliver 5 India release and price details:
