Micromax launches new Bolt series phones in India

Domestic smartphone maker Micromax launched two new budget handsets from the Bolt series -- Supreme and Supreme 2 -- in India.

The Bolt Supreme 2 features a 3.9-inch screen, Android 5.1.1 Lollipop OS, 1.2GHz quad-core processor, 512MB RAM, 4GB inbuilt memory and 1400mAh battery.

On the other hand, the Bolt Supreme houses pretty much the same hardware as in the Supreme 2, but differs in few aspects such as display size and battery capacity. It sports a smaller 3.5-inch screen and 1200mAh cell. Rest of the specifications remain the same for both the models.

Both the Supreme 2 and Supreme houses 2MP camera with LED flash on the rear and 0.3MP snapper on the front. They also come with microSD card (up to 32GB) support, dual-SIM slots, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g/n) and other standard connectivity features.

The new Bolt Supreme comes in champagne white and black colours, whereas the Supreme 2 will be available in grey colour option for Rs. 2,749 and Rs. 2,999, respectively.

Competition:

Both the Micromax phones will be competing with domestic brands such as Intex, Xolo, Lava and Micromax's own Canvas Spark series budget phones.

Earlier in the week, Micromax launched Canvas Evok with a 64-bit class Qualcom processor in India for less than Rs. 8,500.
