Home-bred smartphone-maker Micromax has launched a new tablet dubbed as Canvas Tabby for children in India.
The new Canvas Tabby sports 7.0-inch WSVGA screen and runs on the Android 4.4 KitKat OS powered by a dual-core Mediatek processor, 1GB RAM, 8GB inbuilt storage and 3,200mAh battery, which can run the device for close to 158 hours under standby mode.
Other features include 2mp camera with LED flash on the rear side, 0.3mp (VGA) snapper on the front. Key aspect of the device is that it boasts intuitive Kid OS, a simple interface to help children (aged 2-8) navigate through the tablet with ease.
Canvas Tabby also boasts of parental control features like only age-specific content to be shown in the device, another one is the 'Time manager' feature, where in children will only be able access the tablet during a specific time-frame, beyond which the device shuts down automatically and elders can also assign time like number of minutes (weekly/daily) to individual app for language or maths or any other skill development apps.
Another notable feature is that Canvas Tabby boasts two separate profiles for parents and children (up to three kids) so that elders monitor their child's activity and get summary on kid's skill development as well.

Though the company says Canvas Tabby will go on sale exclusively via Flipkart (HERE) for ₹6,499 from 22 June, the official e-commerce affiliate has already begun selling the tablet.
