Popular indigenous smartphone maker, Micromax has released budget tablet PC dubbed as Funbook Ultra HD P580 in India via online stores.
The new tablet has been listed at online stores - Home Shop 18 for ₹11,990, while another e-commerce site Flipkart is yet to commence the sales of the device.
Micromax Funbook Ultra HD P580 sports a 7.8-inch 1280x720 IPS screen and runs on the Android v4.2.2 Jelly Bean OS powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core processor with 1GB RAM and 8GB storage (expandable up to 32GB) on board memory.
It also houses a 5.0-megapixel primary camera on the rear side, a 2.0-megapixel snapper on the front, a Li-Ion based 3600mAh battery. On connectivity front, the tablet boasts 3G SIM support, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and GPS for navigation.
The new Micromax tablet will be competing with MNC brands like Google Nexus 7 (2012 edition), Asus Fonepad (Wi-Fi 3G) and with Apple iPad Mini (2012) price scaled down to ₹ 16,900 under exchange scheme. Funbook Ultra HD P580 has got itself a serious contender, if people are willing to shell out an additonal ₹4000 bucks for a premium product.
