Micromax concluded its third flash sale for its ultra-cheap Canvas Spark smartphone at 12 PM on Wednesday.
The Indian smartphone maker received phenomenal response from nationwide buyers, clearing the stock in a matter of just two minutes. Micromax did not reveal the number of units that were on sale today but confirmed the flash sale in a brief tweet.
Those who were unable to secure the handset during this time will likely have another chance to grab the handset during the next flash sale.
Snapdeal echoed Micromax's gratitude on the successful Canvas Spark sale and reminded shoppers about registering for the next flash sale. Micromax will continue the weekly sale and make its budget handset available once again next Wednesday exclusively through Snapdeal.
Registrations are mandatory for the upcoming flash sale and those who registered for today's sale are also required to register again if they wish to participate in the next week's sale.
Prospective buyers can register for the next flash sale on Snapdeal starting 12PM Thursday.
It's interesting to see Micromax turning some tables in the budget smartphone space, which is widely dominated by companies like Lenovo, Xiaomi and Motorola. Besides having the home advantage, Micromax is making sure the handsets are worth consumers' money.
The Canvas Spark, which was launched just last month, sports a comfortable 4.7-inch qHD display and Gorilla Glass 3 protection. It is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek processor, 1GB RAM and has 8GB of expandable storage. On the camera side of things, there's an 8MP primary shooter with LED flash and a 2MP front snapper for selfies. Powering up the handset is a 2,000mAh battery that comes with around 7 hours of talk-time. Canvas Spark also includes some add-ons such as Dual-SIM, 3G support and Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box.
The handset sold extremely well in the previous sale, which was conducted last week. The smartphone manufacturer sold 50,000 units of Canvas Spark in less than 5 minutes.
