After much delay, Micromax will finally release its Canvas Selfie smartphone in India in the first week of March.
The company further revealed that the smartphone will be priced at Rs 15,999, Mobiletor reports.
Micromax unveiled the handset in early December and unveiled all the features of the Canvas Selfie. As the name suggests, the phone's USP is the camera that packs 13-megapixel Sony sensors on both sides. That's right! Users will get a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera with dual LED flash and a 13MP front snapper with soft LED flash, along with a plethora of photo-editing tools such as eye enhancement, face slimming, skin smoothening, teeth whitening, oil removing and make-up.
Besides the impressive cameras, the overall specifications are quite marginal. There's a 4.7-inch HD IPS display and the handset is powered by a 1.7GHz octa-core MediaTek processor backed by 2GB RAM. The overall design of the phone is much in line with other phones in the Micromax series. But there's a unique curve at the top and the bottom of the phone, and the camera module is bigger than the normal phones. To add a premium look, there's faux leather wrap at the back cover with company's logo on it.
Other features in the Canvas Selfie include dual-SIM support, 16GB internal space with microSD card support up to 32GB, 2,300mAh battery, and its OS is Android 4.4 KitKat.
With these specs and features, Micromax Canvas Selfie competes with other selfie-focused phones such as HTC Desire 820, which sports an 8MP front snapper and Oppo N phones that come with rotating cameras. There's no exact date for the Canvas Selfie release, but it will hit the retailers as soon as next week.
