After a weeklong of teasing, Micromax is finally set to launch the much anticipated Octa-core smartphone Canvas Knight A350 in India on Wednesday (5 March).
Micromax took to its official Facebook page to confirm the news. "Tighten your seatbelts. 1 more day to go! #CanvasKnight", said the company.
The company had already launched Canvas Knight in Russia, when Micromax for the first time forayed in to the northern Eurasian market in January this year. The phone features 5.0-inch full HD (1920x1080p) display and is powered by a 2GHz Octa-core CPU (most probably MediaTek chipset) with 2GB RAM and32GB inbuilt storage.
It is also said to house a 16.0-megapixel main camera, a standard 5.0-megapixel snapper on the front and a 2350 mAh battery.
Though the news is certain to bring cheer among fans, it is bit strange that Micromax, known to be a trendsetter for domestic smartphone makers is releasing Canvas Knight, almost two months after rival Intex launched the first local branded eight-core phone Aqua Octa.
As of now, there is no official word on the price of Canvas Knight, but it expected to cost around ₹20,000. Once launched, it will lock horns with Samsung's Galaxy Grand 2, Grand Neo, Intex Aqua Octa, Lava Iris Pro 30 and also expected to divert some attention off the Motorola Moto G (16GB), which has become very hard for anybody to get their hands on it. (Flipkart, the exclusive online seller, which recently replenished its inventory after a gap of 20 odd days, after the company ran out of stocks within minutes on the launch day).
