Indigenous smartphone manufacturer Micromax appears to be gearing up to launch a new smartphone- Canvas Gold A300 in the highly competitive handset market.
The Micromax Canvas Gold A300 smartphone has made online debut in the country via the e-retail store Infibeam.
For the last few weeks rumours have been swirling that Micromax had plans to announce a new smartphone during the company's 16 June event. While the release didn't come through on that date, the rumoured handset is now available for purchase in the country with a price point of ₹24,000. As per the listing on the online retailer website, the new handset of Micromax will be shipped within 5-6 business days from the date of order.
The handset specifications listed on the website are well corroborated with the previous rumours and speculations.
Micromax's new smartphone, Canvas Gold A300 boasts 5.5-inch full-HD display with 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution and is shipped with the Google's latest Android platform Android 4.4 (KitKat) OS. Inside, the handset packs 2 GHz Octa-Core processor (unspecified chipset), 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal memory, of which 25 GB is for mass storage and 1GB for apps installation.
The smartphone houses 16-megapixel rear autofocus camera with flash and 5-megapixel front-facing camera with additional camera features like Sony Image Sensor. The handset is backed by 2300 mAh Li-Polymer battery, promising upto 8 hours talktiime and 210 hours of standby time. The connectivity features of the Canvas Gold include GPS, GPRS/ EDGE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Wi-Fi Hotspot, Bluetooth v4.0.
Meanwhile, the company has released its first ever Windows Phone OS powered handsets - Canvas Win W121 and Canvas Win W092 - in India. Canvas Win W121, the top-end device among the two smartphones comes with features like 5.0-inch HD (1280x720p) display, 1.2GHz Snapdragon 200 series quad-core processor, 1GB RAM, 8GB inbuilt memory (expandable up to 32GB), an 8.0-megapixel camera, a 2.0-megapixel front facing camera and a 2000 mAh battery.
On the other hand, Canvas Win W092 offers 4.0-inch IPS screen, 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon CPU, 1GB RAM, 8GB storage (expandable up to 32GB), a 5.0-megapixel camera, a 0.3-megapixel front-facing camera and a 1500 mAh battery.
