Hours ahead of the grant unveiling of Micromax Canvas 4 on Monday, the handset made an appearance on the company's official support page with the model name 'Canvas A210'.
Technology website Gizbot was the first to spot the phone on the company's official page - Micromaxinfo.com/support. However, the website did not reveal any specifications of the much-anticipated smartphone.
The Indian smartphone maker which is now working towards making the unveiling event a grant success has been cryptic about the upcoming Canvas 4 smartphone. The series of wacky teasers and images that were frequently released in the past couple of weeks fuelled speculations of the smartphone's features. In the countdown to the launch event, Micromax had started accepting pre-orders for Canvas 4 without confirming the features. It was reported that the company received more than 4081 smartphone pre-orders in the first seven hours itself.
Going by the rumours, the Canvas 4 smartphone is expected to feature a 5.0-inch IPS HD 720p display, 1.2GHz MediaTek MT6589 quad-core processor, Android v4.2.2 out-of-the-box, 13.0-megapaixel rear camera, 5.0-megapixel front-facing camera, 2GB RAM, 8GB of internal memory, 3,000mAh Li Ion battery and connectivity features such as Dual SIM, Wi-Fi, 3G, mini USB 2.0 and Bluetooth. It is also expected be priced ₹15,990 or anywhere within the ₹20,000 bracket.
Micromax, which created history with its first cheap quad core smartphone - A116 Canvas HD, hopes to recreate the same with the next-generation Canvas 4. Considering the exuberant hype around the unveiling and ever-increasing fan base, Micromax is expected to deliver a smartphone that would be unmatched by any of its competitors.
