Popular local player Micromax has released budget phone Bolt A61 to the Indian market.
The new phone, which was spotted on the Micromax website a few days ago, has been made available at the official company e-store and private site Infibeam for around ₹4,989. It sports a sleek metal back cover with 4.0-inch WVGA (480x800p) TFT display and runs on the Android v4.2 Jelly Bean OS out-of-the-box.
Under-the-hood, Bolt A61 packs 1GHz Spreadtrum SC7710 processor with 256MB RAM, 512MB inbuilt storage (expandable up to 32GB), 2.0-megapixel main camera, 0.3-megapixel (VGA) front-facing camera and a 1500 mAh battery.
The budget phone will be up against the time-tested Nokia Asha series models Samsung Rex 80, Galaxy Star and local devices, such as Karbonn A12+, A6, Videocon A15, Lava Iris 356 and its own siblings - Bolt A62, A58 and A34.
Earlier this week, Micromax released a couple of new handsets Canvas Juice A77 and Canvas HD A166i; the latter a re-hashed model of the company's first flagship model Canvas HD A116.
