Micromax's most popular-selling smartphone, A116 Canvas HD, has received a price cut at Spice Mobile store Saholic.
Although the price cut is not high, news that the smartphone is in stock along with a price cut will certainly woo customers. The smartphone's price had shot up after the handset went out of stock. According to reports, customers purchasing the device through Saholic had to shell out more cash.
Now the online retailer has listed the smartphone with a price tag of ₹14,399. The website shows a discount of 18 percent from its previous price of ₹ 17,499. Considering the earlier price for which it has been selling, the latest price cut may be sturdy but is its actual cost. The official price tag of the Micromax A116 Canvas HD smartphone is ₹14,499.
The company has increased the price of the smartphone from ₹13,990 to ₹14,499 following the government's proposal to hike duty of those handsets which are priced above ₹2,000. Micromax's smartphone had set a good record in the market soon after its launch. Although the snagged supply and procedural issues dimmed the overwhelming attention towards the company, Canvas HD's low price tag and high-end features kept the momentum going. With the success of A116 Canvas HD, Micromax's sold more than one million smartphone units in the Canvas Series, the company announced on Thursday.
