Online retail stores in India seemed to be getting ready to accept the next generation Canvas smartphone from renowned handset maker Micromax. In what seemed to be making way for the imminent launch of Micromax Canvas 4, the price of its predecessor Micromax A116 Canvas HD has seen a drop at various e-retailers in the country, including on the company's own website.
Micromax A116 Canvas HD smartphone, which created history in the Indian domestic handset market with its unprecedented demand, is now available for purchase with a price tag starting from ₹12,990 at online retailer Snapdeal. Spice Group owned e-commerce website Saholic has given it a price tag of ₹13,099. Going by Micromax's own website, the smartphone is available for ₹13, 499.
Although we have not heard anything about Micromax A116 Canvas HD for a long time after shipments got back on track, the company has reportedly increased the price of the smartphone from ₹13,990 to ₹14,499 following the government's proposal to hike duty of those handsets which are priced above ₹2,000.
Micromax is rumoured to launch its next Canvas smartphone in the coming days. Like A116 Canvas HD, the upcoming Canvas 4 is also expected to create good vibes in the market.
Regarding the A116 Canvas HD smartphone specifications, it sports a 5-inch HD IPS screen with 1280x720 pixel resolution and 16.7 million colour depth.
