Social media has been flooded with messges of mass outrage after the Mexican riot police violently attacked hundreds of protesting professors from the State Coordinator of Education Workers in Guerrero (CETEG).
Hundreds of protesters were beaten up brutally by the riot police after they attempted to march towards Juan Alvarez de Acapulco International Airport .
The CETEG teachers are demanding the government to resolve problems of workers who are not being paid their salaries.
An estimated 94,000 workers from CETEG and other public servants in Mexico have not received salaries.
Early on Tuesday more than 2,000 teachers began marching at the junction towards the international airport, to put pressure on the authorities to comply with established bargaining agreements.
Social media reports claim at least 106 have been detained by the police and since then there is no information about them.
