Bringing a cheer among gamers; Konami has announced that those buying Metal Gear Solid 5: Ground Zeroes will also get an exclusive Raiden content on their Xbox consoles.
Konami posted a trailer titled "Night" that details the gameplay of Ground Zeroes. It has also posted another trailer on the game's "Jamais Vu" mission that introduces players to the Xbox-exclusive mission that also features Raident, the cyborg soldier. This will be available exclusively for Xbox 360 and Xbox One as downloadable content (DLC).
This news was previously announced during the launch of Xbox One, but there was no detailed information available.
Hideo Kojima, the creator of the franchise, said during a Q&A on Xbox Wire, "Technology is at a crossroads, facilitating evolution perpendicular to the path we've taken thus far."
"It's not just about the next level of gaming hardware anymore, it's about how that hardware will allow games to interact with multiple devices and SNS platforms. Technology is fanning out in a horizontal direction as opposed to the vertical evolution of the past."
Kojima believes that there will be more venues for players to interact and share their experiences, due to open world games.
"From now on, an increasing number of players will be actively communicating with each other through the medium of games. The best way to engage and motivate these players, and nurture the resulting sense of competition among them is to give them the freedom of interaction that open world elements provide."
Konami has a similar setup with PlayStation consoles, giving users exclusive "Deja Vu" add-on content for PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4. It feature Snake appearing in Metal Gear Solid's original and also has an added mission.
Metal Gear Solid 5: Ground Zeroes is a standalone prequel to Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain. The release of Ground Zeroes is set on 18 March, 2014.
