Konami has reportedly revealed the PC version release date of its upcoming title, Metal Gear Solid 5: Ground Zeroes, at a press event in Moscow.
The game publisher seemed to have confirmed its plans of releasing the PC version of Metal Gear Solid 5: Ground Zeroes in Moscow by none other than Hideo Kojima, the creator of the series. The game will be released on 18 December 2014; three sources (gamemag, SHAZOO, batya) reported.
Metal Gear Solid 5: Ground Zeroes PC will be released on Steam. Kojima was in Moscow to attend Igromir 2014, a gaming event. The reports from more than two sources suggest that the information that was revealed could be legit. However, Konami has declined to entertain or comment on the issue. The Steam official listing says that the game is "coming soon".
Fans have been expecting a Metal Gear Solid 5: Ground Zeroes PC version and their excitement grew after Kojima had previously shown interest in making a PC version. He had told GameSpot: "PC, that's my original background. I originally created PC games. A long time ago I didn't want to rely on platforms to release games, so if people want it, I cannot make a formal announcement, but that is definitely something that I would like to do."
Metal Gear Solid 5: Ground Zeroes was released for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One platforms on 18 March 2014.
It has been speculated that if Ground Zeroes releases for PC, Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain too will have a PC version. Konami has said that The Phantom Pain will release in 2015.
Ground Zeroes allows players to control the game's protagonist, Snake aka Big Boss, tasked to infiltrate and American refugee camp with prison in Cuba, where he has to extract some prisoners with information on a person called Cipher.
