After months of speculations, YU has finally unveiled the flagship Yutopia in New Delhi.
The new YU Yutopia flaunts same design language used in the budget Yuphoria, but the difference is that the new phone boasts all-metal cover made of airplane-grade Aluminium and Magnesium alloy.
It measures just 7.3 mm thick, making it one of the few slimmest flagship smartphones in the market.
YU Yutopia also boasts fingerprint based biometric technology to provide additional layer of security. It is ergonomically placed below the camera on the rear-side for easy access. The company claims that the user can even take a selfie using the fingerprint module with just a single tap on it.
At the front, it sports a 5.2-inch QHD (2560x1440p) display with staggering pixel density of 570 ppi (pixels per inch) promising rich viewing experience.
Under-the-hood, it houses a powerful Snapdragon 810 series Octa-core SoC (System on Chip) backed by 4GB RAM, 32GB inbuilt memory and a 3000 battery, which can keep the phone running for close to 300 hours under standby mode.
Yutopia ships with the popular Android ROM Cyanogen OS (v12.1) out-of-the-box. It is based on the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop and the device is confirmed to receive the latest v6.0 Marshmallow OS really soon. YU's software Cyanogen Inc has confirmed that the firmware is already under testing.
Another notable aspect of Yutopia is its camera. It boasts 21MP Sony IMX230 camera sensor featuring PDAF (Phase Detection Auto Focus), OIS (Optical Image Stabilisation) wide-angle (77.3-degree), HDR, 0.2 second Auto-focus, Blue Glass filter and also capable of recording 4K resolution video. It's 8MP front snapper is also equally impressive.
Besides Yutopia, YU also unveiled an new service 'Around YU'. It's more like hub providing access to top food ordering apps, taxi aggregators (Olacabs & Taxi for Sure), travel app Ixigo, shopping voucher app Scandid and many other service apps.
Early Yutopia buyers are assured to get special discounts on Olacabs ride, Zomato, free six months subscription to Gaana app and also some select lucky people will get flight ticket for just Re 1 via Ixigo.

The company has confirmed that the new YU Yutopia will be released exclusively through Amazon India for Rs. 24,999. Prospective buyers can pre-book the new YU device now on Amazon India (HERE). The delivery of the Yutopia will commence from 26 December.
The company in association with Airtel and SBI (State Bank of India) is giving early bird buyers double data and Rs 1,000 cashback offers respectively.
To further sweeten the deal, YU is offering 'Assured Upgrade' plan for Yutopia buyers. In this scheme, consumers stand a chance of getting close to 40% cashback in exchange for Yutopia 2 in future.
