Just one-episode-old, The CW's new supernatural series "The Messengers" is already very popular. In the series premiere, the five newly-appointed Angels of Apocalypse were introduced and so was The Man, who at this point of the show, is pegged as Lucifer. Season 1 Episode 2 of "The Messengers", to be aired on 24 April, Friday, at 9.00pm (EST), will show how the angels react to the seemingly ridiculous news that they are the chosen five to earth from Rapture.
Vera (Shantel VanSanten), Erin (Sofia Black D'Elia), Joshua (Jon Fletcher), Raul (JD Pardo), and Peter (Joel Courtney) are reaching destination - unbeknownst to each other – where Vera's old friend Rose (Anna Diop) tells them that they have been assigned the task of saving the Earth. Rose, who was apparently killed in a random attack of violence, has now been gifted with the divine knowledge.
She calls each of the Angels by their names and tells them that God is angry with the world and is testing it. Rose further clarifies that the meteor fall that caused each of their momentary deaths, was no meteor fall, but in fact Lucifer landing on earth. She specifically tells Vera that the devil himself is playing tricks with her, by taunting her about Michael - her son who went missing seven years ago.
Although her other cosmic contemporaries are too shocked to speak, Vera keeps resisting Rose's advice that the five of them need to work together. Will Rose be able to convince the Angels to stop the Four Horsemen of Apocalypse in "The Messengers" Season 1 episode 2, "Strange Magic"? Find out on Friday, 24 April, at 9.00pm (EST) in The CW.
