Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh of the "Messenger of God" series will next be seen in "Online Gurukul." Directed by Kittu Saluja, the film will see the actor portray a double role — of a teacher and his follower — much like Shah Rukh Khan's "Fan."
So is it inspired by SRK's latest, which saw the 50-year-old actor play the superstar and the fan? While confirming the news to the Asian Age, the filmmaker spilled the beans on what viewers can expect from his upcoming film. He said that the follower will be an younger version of him, and not a look-like.
"The story too has been written by him and playing a double role again was his idea. The teacher's follower is not a Baba look-alike, but a younger version of him," he told the leading daily, adding that the film relies heavily on VFX, which is why Madhu Sudan has been roped in; he has worked closely with the "Lord of The Rings" and "Spiderman" teams. "Ganesh Acharya has done the choreography and Abbas ali Moghul has designed the action," Kittu added.
Shot across a period of four months, the film has been shot in Sirsa (Punjab). To open in theatres sometime in 2017, the film also stars Gurmeet's sister Anupreet, who plays a significant role. "The VFX will take a year to be complete. I am also in talks with Baba to direct Warrior and MSG 3," Kittu added.
