Mercedes-Benz launches C-Class, S-Class Cabriolets in India

German luxury carmaker Mercedes-Benz expanded its product portfolio in India with the C-class Cabriolet and the S-class Cabriolet on Wednesday, November 9. The C-Class Cabriolet 300 is priced at Rs 60 lakh and the S 500 Cabriolet comes with a price tag of Rs 2.25 crore (Ex-showroom New Delhi).

"The introduction of C-Class and S-Class Cabriolets in India is an illustration of our 'top of pyramid' strategy of bringing in the best of our products from the global portfolio for our distinguished Indian customers. Globally, the C-Class Cabriolet is the first ever cabriolet to be made on the C-Class platform by Mercedes-Benz. The S-Class Cabriolet is the first cabriolet introduced by the brand since 1971 and also happens to be the first cabriolet based on our flagship S-Class to make its way to India," said Roland Folger, Managing Director and CEO, Mercedes-Benz India.

C-Class Cabriolet

At the heart of the C-Class Cabriolet is a 1,991cc turbo, four-cylinder petrol engine, which is tuned to churn out 245bhp of power at 5,500 rpm along with 370NM of torque at 1,300- 4,000rpm. The engine comes coupled to a 9G-TRONIC Automatic Transmission and gets Dynamic Select, which will allow the driver to choose their transmission modes from ECO, Comfort, Sport, Sport Plus and Individual.

The C-Class Cabriolet comes with 43.2 cm (17-inch) 5-twin-spoke light-alloy wheels painted in Himalaya Grey as standard and features upholstery in leather, a leather multifunction steering wheel, electrically adjustable driver's seat, 3-spoke multifunction steering wheel, Instrument cluster with 5.5-inch multifunction display, automatic belt feeder and ambient lighting.

S-Class Cabriolet

Powering the S-Class Cabriolet is a 4.7-litre twin-turbo V8 engine, which can generate 455bhp and 700Nm of torque. The transmission is taken care of by 9G-TRONIC Automatic gearbox and gets Thermotronic automatic climate control, active parking assist with PARKTRONIC with 360° camera, head-up display, COMMAND online with touchpad, Burmester high-end 3D surround sound system and LED intelligent light system. It also gets the customisation package-- Designo Mercedes-Benz India offers more than 13,000 possible customization combinations.
