Mercedes-Benz India has strengthened its AMG performance car range with the launch of two new SUVs. The new SUVs are Mercedes-AMG G 63 'Edition 463' and Mercedes-AMG GLS 63 priced at Rs. 2.17 crore and Rs. 1.58 crore (ex-showroom Pune) respectively.

The G 63 'Edition 463' comes with Stainless-steel under-ride guard, AMG Sport strips on flanks and 5-twin-spoke light-alloy wheels in matt black with high-sheen rim flange on the exterior. The interior boast of black designo leather and two-tone seats in designo black leather or designo light brown leather with side bolsters in black carbon leather. Colour-coordinated topstitching on dashboard, front and rear door handles, armrest, handbrake, seat covers and head restraints front and rear adds richness inside. AMG carbon-fibre trim and door centre panels in designo leather with diamond quilting are the other major changes.
The Mercedes-AMG G 63 is powered by a 5.5-litre supercharged V8 engine that produces 572bhp and 760Nm of torque, mated to an AMG Speedshift Plus 7G-Tronic gearbox. This allows the iconic off-roader to accelerate from 0 to 100kmph in 5.4 seconds, and reach an electronically restricted top speed of 210kmph.
The Mercedes-AMG GLS 63, on the other hand, comes with a 5.5-litre Biturbo V8 that makes 585bhp and 760Nm of peak torque, paired to an AMG Speedshift Plus 7G-Tronic gearbox. The vehicle comes with a permanent AMG Performance 4Matic all-wheel-drive system and Active Curve System roll stabilisation.
On the exterior, Mercedes-AMG GLS 63 comes with chrome fins, red paint brake calipers, panoramic sliding sunroof, mirror package including brand logo projection, anti-theft protection package and AMG bodystyling kit. Interior of the vehicle flaunts AMG Performance steering wheel in black nappa leather, temperature-controlled cupholder, front seats with massage function, Harmon Kardon Logic 7 surround sound system and more.
With the new launches, Mercedes-Benz's dominant SUV portfolio now grown to eight models. New SUVs are the 5th and 6thnew models of Mercedes-Benz in India this year.
