Mercedes-Benz pulled the wraps off its new GLA 45 AMG 4MATIC India on Monday (27 October) with a price tag of ₹69.60 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai).
The new GLA 45 AMG, the performance version of GLA-Class, which made its India debut recently gets the same engine as CLA 45 AMG. The car draws power from the 2.0-litre, four-cylinder, direct-injection petrol engine, which can churn out a massive power of 355bhp and a peak torque of 450Nm. The engine comes coupled to the AMG SpeedShift DCT 7-speed sports transmission and can accelerate 0-100kmph in 4.8 seconds with a top-speed of 250kmph.

From the visual stand point, the new GLA 45 AMG gets aggressive styling like other AMG models with sporty bumpers, red brake calliper, rear diffuser and 19 inch alloy wheels. Inside the cabin as well, the AMG version of GLA Class has got sporty treatment, which include rear seat belt, red stitching on the seats and flat-bottomed steering wheel.
The company's GLA Class is reportedly getting a good response from the auto lovers in the country. Powered by two litre petrol engine and 2.2 litre diesel motor, the GLA-Class 200 CDI Style has been priced at ₹32.75 lakh, and the 200 Sport and 200 CDI Sport get a price tag of ₹36 lakh and ₹36.9 lakh respectively (ex-showroom Delhi).
In GLA Class, the 2 litre petrol engine is tuned to deliver 135kW of power @ 5,500 rpm with a peak torque of 300Nm @ 1,200-1,400 rpm and the car can attain 0-100 kmph in 7.6 seconds with a top speed of 225 kmph.
On the other hand, the 2.2 litre diesel engine produces a power of 100kW@ 3,600–4,400 rpm with a torque of 300Nm@ 1,600-3,000 rpm and it can accelerate from 0-100 kmph in 9.9 seconds with a top speed of 205 kmph.
