Reining Formula One world champion Lewis Hamilton seems to have fallen in love with the mighty Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG 6x6 and is planning to buy one.
The 30-year-old British driver has posted a picture of him with the G63 AMG 6x6 on his Facebook account. He captioned the image with "So.... Thinking about getting this bad boy. What do you think?"
The G63 AMG 6x6 is no longer in production. Mercedes-Benz AMG only built a limited number of G63 6x6s and all of them has found takers. However, being the star driver of Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One team that leads the 2015 driver and constructors championship, Mercedes will be happy to build a brand new one for him if he decides to go buy.
The Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG 6×6 was the largest and second most expensive street-legal SUV model manufactured by the company.
The G63 AMG 6×6 features six-wheel drive running and is powered by a 5.5litre twin-turbo V8 AMG engine developing 536hp and 761Nm of torque. The engine is mated to 7G-tronic seven-speed automatic transmission.
The vehicle has low-range ratio, five differential locks, portal axles, tyre pressure control system and a special chassis.
The G63 AMG 6×6 is 5875 mm in length, 2110 mm in width and 2210 mm in height, having ground clearance of 460 mm. The super SUV weights 4105kg and runs on 37-inch wheels. The vehicle is reportedly priced at 451,010 Euro which is approximately Rs 3.35 crore.
Hamilton is known for his passion for cars and has been spotted many times in his bespoke Pagani Zonda 760 LH. It remains to be seen whether Mercedes-Benz would gift him his new car crush if he retains the championship in the current season.
