Celebrating 20 years of the production of the E-Class in India, Mercedes-Benz India launched special edition of the E-Class sedan, christened as Edition E, priced at Rs. 48.60 lakh, ex-showroom, Pune. The E-Class is the bread and butter model for Mercedes-Benz and the company sold more than 32,000 units in India from 1995.
The Edition E is available with the E200 petrol, E 250 CDI and E 350 CDI diesel units and priced at Rs 48.60 lakh, Rs 50.76 lakh and Rs 60.61 lakh, respectively (all prices are ex-showroom, Pune). The Edition E features special badges, black hub caps, new look fibre-topic tail lights and panoramic sunroof on the exterior. The interior is spruced up with in-built navigation with SD card access, active park assist with rear camera, sporty brake pedals, high resolution 8-inch colour display, seat adjustment with three memory settings and access to MB apps.
The special edition also boasts of Adaptive brake lights, a safety feature that flashes red warning signal from the tail lamps when emergency braking is recognised.
The Edition E comes with eight airbags as standard. The top-spec Edition E in E 350 CDI trim flaunts Active Parking Assist with 360 degree camera, Harman Kardon surround sound system with 610 watts combined with 14 speakers. This model also comes with rear seat entertainment system.
The Edition E is powered by the same in-line four cylinder 1991cc petrol engine that develops 181bhp and 300Nm of torque. The diesel engines are the in-line four cylinder 2143cc unit that develops 201bhp and 500Nm of torque, and V6 2987cc unit that churns out 261bhp and 620Nm of torque.
