After launching 2015 C-Class sedan, GLA-Class compact crossover and GLA 45 AMG, German luxury car maker Mercedes Benz is now reportedly ready to roll out its much-awaited CLA sedan in India on 20 January, 2015.
A new ZigWheels report citing sources claims that Mercedes-Benz CLA launch has been confirmed for 20 January and the car will be available in India in both petrol and diesel engine options.
The petrol version of CLA-Class will get power from 2.0-litre engine which can churn out a power 183.5PS and a peak torque of 300Nm, while the diesel model of the car will be powered by 2.2-litre oil-burner that can pump out 136PS of peak power and 300Nm of peak torque. For both the engines, the transmission will come from Mercedes 7G-DCT automatic transmission.
Based on MFA (Modular Front Architecture), the upcoming CLA Class sedan will be pitched against Audi A3. Although the price details are sketchy at this point of time, from what hear, Mercedes is likely to price its new offering in ₹30-35 lakh brackets.
Recently, Mercedes introduced its 2015 C-Class in India with a price tag ₹40.90 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). C-Class is powered by 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder engine, which can generate a maximum power of 181bhp @5500rpm and a peak torque of 300Nm 1200-1400rpm. The engine comes coupled to a 7-speed double-clutch transmission with a top speed of 235km/h and can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 7.3 seconds. The car comes seated on a wheelbase of 2,840mm and promises a fuel efficiency of 14.74 kmpl.
