Mercedes-AMG has revealed a special edition of the A45 to celebrate the victory in 2015 Formula 1 constructors' and drivers' championships. The Mercedes AMG Petronas 2015 Champion Edition A-Class celebrates the victory in the constructors' world championship as well as the drivers' championship, and the runner-up titles won by Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg.
The changes at the exterior of the special edition of the A 45 include highlights with petrol green and black colours in line with the design of the winning F1 W06 hybrid car model. The special edition features large front splitter, bespoke flics and a rear-mounted roof spoiler. The car comes in 19-inch cross-spoke wheels painted in titanium grey and petrol green rim flange.
The car also comes with Night package, the AMG performance seats, the AMG exclusive package plus the AMG Dynamic Plus package as standard.
The interior is spruced up with a special badge on the lid of the storage compartment with the official lettering of the team. The petrol green colour treatment is extended to the interior with the stitching on the armrests, dashboard, air vents and seat belts. The special edition also boasts of performance steering wheel in Dinamica micro-fibre that comes with petrol green stitching.
Mechanically, the A 45 remains unchanged. The 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine developing 376bhp and 475Nm of torque. Power is transmitted to all four wheels via a seven-speed dual clutch gearbox.
The special edition A 45 will be showcased at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix in Yas Marina on 26 November 2015.From January 2016, it will be available till May 2016.
