Melissa Benoist, who is known for her role of Marley Rose in comedy-drama series "Glee", is all set to star as "Supergirl" in the upcoming CBS series of the same name.

Nicole (Whiplash, 2014)
The story of "Whiplash" revolves around a young musician named Andrew (Miles Teller) who struggled to establish himself as a professional jazz drummer and Melissa played the role of his girlfriend Nicole. Though she had only a few minutes in the movie, her character was undoubtedly strong.
To impress his teacher, Andrew left Nicole and continued playing the drums. Though still in love with him, she accepted the break-up and decided to move on with her life.
Jamie (Danny Collins, 2015)
In one of her most recent works, Melissa starred as a front-desk clerk of Hilton Hotel in "Danny Collins". The movie, based on a real-life situation, sees ageing rocker Danny Collins (Al Pacino) receiving a letter from John Lennon that the latter wrote him 40 years ago.
After reading it, he checked into a Hilton Hotel in New Jersey where he befriended a valet (Josh Peck), the hotel manager, Mary (Annette Bening) and Melissa as the front-desk clerk, Jamie.
Ava (Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, 2010)
In episode 5 of season 12, titled "Wet", Melissa played the role of Ava. In the episode, a vicious felony is investigated by an elite squad, known as the Special Victims Unit.
Though it was a minor role, her character in the series is considered by many as the one that marked her rise in the industry.
Marley (Glee, 2012-2014)
The character of Marley Rose is one of the most prominent works of Melissa till date. She won a Teen Choice Award for her role in the comedy-drama series.
She played a transfer student in the series, appearing for first time in the fourth season premiere episode titled "The New Rachel". She came from a low income family. Initially a shy, sweet and intelligent kind of girl, she soon joined the glee club and befriended the other students in the club.
Stacey (Homeland, 2011)
In episode 1 and 2 of season 1, Melissa played the role of Stacey Moore, a woman being interviewed to be in a harem.
In the episode, a consort of Prince Farid Bin Abbud of Saudi Arabia interviewd young women in Washington DC for prince's harem, and Stacy is one of the interviewees.
