Meizu appears to have started working on its MX5 successor, MX6, as several details, including key specifications, have been leaked online.
Meizu MX6 is expected to be released by the end of this year, though it has not been confirmed. There are also possibilities of the device seeing the light of day in June, as its predecessor was unveiled during this time of the year in 2015.
According to AnTuTu's post on its Weibo page (via GadgetzArena), which has been removed, Meizu MX6 will be powered by MediaTek's Helio X20 SoC. If it is true, the device will be the first to have the Helio X20 SoC, which scored a record 7,037 on a Geekbench benchmark test conducted recently. The processor also comes with Mali-T880 MP4 GPU, Cortex-A72 and Cortex-A53 cores.
It is also reported that Meizu MX6 will have a 1080x1920pixel resolution display, come packed with 32GB internal memory and 3GB RAM, and run Android 6.0 Marshmallow with Flyme OS UI. However, one has to take the specifications of the device with a pinch of salt as the Chinese smartphone-maker is yet to reveal the details.
Meizu MX5 is powered by Mediatek MT6795 Helio X10 processor, runs Android 5.0.1 Lollipop and comes with 16/32/64GB internal memory and 3GB RAM. The device also has a 5.5-inch AMOLED capacitive touchscreen with 1080x1920 pixels (401 ppi pixel density), 20.7MP main camera, 5MP secondary snapper and a non-removable Li-Ion 3,150mAh battery.
