Talks about the Meizu MX6 began almost a year after the MX5 was released. Although the Chinese mobile phone manufacturer is mum on its upcoming device, several details like its specifications and design have been leaked online.
The Meizu MX5 was released in July last year, so many believe that its successor, the Meizu MX6, could also arrive at around the same time but we are yet to hear from the company. There are also unconfirmed reports doing the rounds that it will be launched by the end of the year.
According to a Weibo post (via TheGadgetOx), the Meizu MX5 will come in two variants, one with a 32GB internal memory and a 3GB RAM, and the other with a 64GB internal storage and a 4GB RAM. It is also expected to have a slim, metallic body design, powered by a Mediatek Helio X20 processor, and house a 20.7MP rear camera and an 8MP front-snapper.
There are also reports doing the rounds that the Meizu MX6 will have a 1080x1920 pixel resolution display, and come running Android 6.0 Marshmallow with Flyme OS UI.
It may be recalled that the Meizu MX5 sports a 5.5-inch AMOLED capacitive touchscreen with 1,080x1,920 pixels (401 ppi pixel density). Under the hood, it has a Mediatek MT6795 Helio X10 processor, an Android 5.0.1 Lollipop, a 16/32/64GB internal memory, a 3GB RAM, and a non-removable Li-Ion 3,150mAh battery. It mounts a 20.7MP main camera with f/2.2 aperture, laser autofocus, dual-LED (dual tone) flash, 1/2.3" sensor size and 1.2 µm pixel size features, a 5MP front-snapper with f/2.2 aperture.
