Mollywood is going through a great phase with many back-to-back blockbusters hitting the screens, and many awaited Malayalam movies have also been lined up to be released in May.
Comrade in America (CIA)
After Jomonte Suvisheshangal, which was the first hit of the year 2017 at the Kerala box office, Dulquer Salmaan is now prepping for the grand release of the upcoming Malayalam movie Comrade in America (CIA), helmed by Amal Neerad. The political romantic comedy entertainer has been making news ever since it started rolling, and within days, it again hit the headlines for casting newcomer Karthika Muraleedharan replacing Anu Emmanuel, who was initially roped in to play opposite DQ. During the team's shooting in the US, a few photos of the young star with some foreign actors also surfaced online, hinting that the movie will have a couple of action sequences as well.

The posters and teaser of CIA have been opened to tremendous response from the audience, who are eagerly waiting for the grand release of Amal Neerad's production venture, which is slated to hit the screens on May 5.
Lakshyam
Indrajith Sukumaran and Biju Menon's next Lakshyam, helmed by Anzar Khan, is one of the most anticipated movies in Malayalam, ever since the makers released its trailer online. The video song Kaatu Vannuvo from the film has also impressed the cine-goers. Scripted by filmmaker Jeethu Joseph, the movie, which also stars Sshivada Nair and Kishor Satya in main roles, will hit the theatres on May 6.
Ramante Edanthottam
For the first time, hitmaker Ranjith Sankar has joined hands with Kunchacko Boban for a movie, which also stars actress Anu Sithara in the main role. Titled Ramante Edanthottam, the family romantic entertainer is said in the backdrop of an estate (Edan) owned by Raman (Kunchacko), where Anu's character Malini arrives, and the duo fall in love. The incidents that happen bringing changes in the life are being narrated in the movie, which will also be released on May 12.
Ramante Edanthottam also stars Aju Varghese, Muthumani, Joju George and Ramesh Pisharody in significant roles.
Adventures Of Omanakuttan
After postponing multiple times, the makers of Asif Ali and Bhavana's Adventures of Omanakuttan have finally zeroed its release date. The Rohith VS directorial will be hitting the screens on May 18. The interesting teaser and trailer of the movie have been opened to positive response from the audience, and Asif appears in different get-ups in the comedy romantic entertainer.
Godha
After the superhit movie Oru Mexican Aparatha, Tovino Thomas' next project Godha, based on wrestling, is set to get released in May. The Basil Joseph-directorial, which also stars Renji Panicker, Wamiqa Gabbi and Aju Varghese in main roles, is one of the most anticipated flicks of the year. Thanks to the remarkable transformation of Tovino, who has worked hard for portraying the role of wrestler Dasan in it.
The promo videos and songs of the sports movie have been well accepted by the cine-goers, as they have already raised their expectations. The script of Godha had appealed to my gut instincts," Tovino had earlier told International Business Times, India. The movie is scheduled to hit the theatres on May 19.
Theeram
Late actor Ratheesh's son Pranav Ratheesh is making his acting debut with the movie Theeram, in which he plays as an auto driver Ali, who works at night. He falls in love with Maria Yohannan's character Suhara, and the Saheed Arafath directorial is said to be a realistic story with a raw making based in Alappuzha. The movie will be released on May 19.
Ayaal Sasi
Veteran actor Sreenivasan's Ayaal Sassi, directed by Sajin Baabu, will be hitting the theatres in Kerala on May 19.
Chunkzz
After the hit Malayalam movie Happy Wedding, Omar Lulu is set to release his second directorial venture Chunkzz. Based on the life of few mechanical engineering students, the campus entertainer stars Balu Varghese, Dharmajan Bolgatty, Honey Rose, Ganapathi and Vishak Nair in main roles. Rumours suggest that the movie will also hit the screens on May 12, and if the news turns out true, the movie will be locking horns with Godha and Ramante Edanthottam.
